Two days before the midterm elections, an NBC News poll finds Democrats ahead 52%-45% and President Trump's disapproval at 60%
NBC News reports that its poll of 1,000 registered voters, conducted Oct. 28-30 ahead of Tuesday's midterm elections, finds Democrats leading Republicans 52%-45% among registered voters on which party should control Congress, with 60% disapproving of President Trump's job performance, a new high in the NBC News poll across his two terms. Newsweek reports that four polling trackers (Civiqs, Silver Bulletin, The New York Times and RealClearPolling) put Trump's net approval between 11 and 11.8 points worse on October 29 than at the start of 2026; White House spokesperson Davis Ingle told Newsweek Trump remains the party's "unequivocal leader." Fox News Digital interviewed voters, several of whom said they were voting against the other side.
