Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Founders Ramp LLC ("we," "us," "our"), which publishes The Country. They cover thecountry.news and its forms and features (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What The Country is

The Country shows the day's top stories with coverage from Left, Center and Right outlets, and grades that coverage using artificial intelligence against our published method. Reading is free, and no account is needed.

3. Who can use the Service

You must be at least 13 years old. You may not use the Service if the law forbids it.

4. About the grades

Grades are opinion. Each grade on The Country is an AI-generated opinion and analysis of a published article or clip, based on its wording in context and on the public sources we cite. A grade:

• Is our opinion about a piece of coverage, not a statement of fact about any person, and not a judgment of anyone's character, honesty or motives.
• Is based on information that was public when the grade was made. New facts can change the picture.
• Can be wrong. AI systems make mistakes.

Our grading method is published at /method. Media bias placements (Left, Center, Right) come from the third-party ratings we cite, not from us.

Not advice. Nothing on the Service is legal, financial, investment, tax, medical or other professional advice. Check the original source.

5. Disputes and corrections

If you think a grade, quote or story is wrong, use the "Dispute this grade" or feedback form on /method, or email [email protected]. Tell us which grade or story (with a link), what you believe is wrong, and any source that supports your view. We re-check the grade against the original source and our published method. If we find an error, we will correct, update or withdraw the grade. We decide the outcome, and filing a dispute does not guarantee a change. If a piece of coverage or a grade concerns you and you believe it is false or harmful, please contact us first at [email protected] so we can review it quickly.

6. Our content and how you may use it

The Service, including grades, summaries, design, logos and software, belongs to Founders Ramp LLC or its licensors and is protected by law. You may read and share the Service for personal, non-commercial use. You may share links, and you may quote short excerpts with credit to The Country and a link.

7. Third-party content and fair use

The Service quotes and links to news reports and clips by others. Those materials belong to their owners. We use short, verbatim excerpts for news reporting, commentary, criticism and analysis, which we believe is fair use under U.S. copyright law (17 U.S.C. § 107). We link to original sources, and we do not host full transcripts or download videos.

Embeds. Some stories include embedded YouTube videos, shown through youtube-nocookie.com. They are provided by YouTube under its own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for embedded or linked third-party content or services.

8. Copyright and takedown requests

We respect copyright. If you believe material on the Service infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with the subject "Copyright." Please include:

• Your physical or electronic signature.
• A description of the copyrighted work you say is infringed.
• The material you say is infringing and where it is on the Service (a link is best).
• Your name and contact details.
• A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
• A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner.

Please think about fair use before sending a request. If we remove material and you believe it was removed by mistake, email [email protected] and tell us why.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl or bulk-download the Service without our written permission, except standard search-engine indexing allowed by our robots.txt.
• Copy, republish, sell or frame the Service, except as allowed in Section 6.
• Harass, threaten or abuse anyone, including through the feedback and dispute form.
• Submit false, spam or bad-faith disputes, or flood our forms.
• Pretend to be someone else.
• Upload malware, probe or break our security, or get around access limits.
• Use the Service to break any law.

We may limit or block access if you break these rules.

10. What you send us

When you send feedback, a dispute or other material, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, copy and display it to run and improve the Service, including to review and publish corrections. We will not publish your name or email address without your permission. You confirm that you have the right to send it and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

11. Changes to the Service

We may change, add or remove features, or pause or end the Service, at any time.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Grades and other content are generated with AI and may contain errors.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, FOUNDERS RAMP LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT BE MORE THAN $50. Some places do not allow these limits, so some of them may not apply to you.

14. Indemnity

If your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms causes a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees, to the extent the law allows.

15. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any lawsuit about the Service or these Terms must be brought only in the state courts located in Hillsborough County, Florida, or the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division. Before filing any claim, please email [email protected] with a description of the issue, and we will try to resolve it informally within 30 days.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and if a change is material we will post a notice on the site before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the new Terms.

17. General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a part of these Terms, we have not waived it.
