Ukraine's Air Alert app sends fake warnings of a nuclear alert, radiation and street fighting, and hours later Russia says its own emergency alert app was hit by a cyberattack
On Sunday night, Ukraine's Air Alert app sent users false warnings of a nuclear alert, a radiation hazard, a chemical threat and street fighting. Ukraine's air force said the app had been compromised and that there was no radiation threat. Hours later, Russia's emergencies ministry said its own alert app had suffered a massive cyberattack that spread fake information. It was not clear whether the two incidents were linked.
